No Pressure PDA

Welcome to No Pressure PDA! My name is Brook and I’m a 38 year old mother of 3 neurodivergent boys living in the state of Oregon (U.S.A.).

In July of 2021 I learned that most of my struggles with functioning in the world had to do with my neurotype: I’m PDA, or Pathological Demand Avoidance. I already had a diagnosis of ADHD and Complex PTSD but was officially diagnosed as autism with PDA profile spring of 2022. Two out of my three boys are waiting to be diagnosed as PDA/ADHD, and I strongly suspect my youngest is PDA as well.

I love learning and teaching, have a B.A. in religious studies, and an M.A. in human services counseling. Recently I am volunteering with PDA North America and I consider them like family. I created No Pressure PDA as a place to discuss all things neurodivergence with a specific emphasis on Pathological Demand Avoidance, trauma, ADHD, and complex PTSD.

This is a place for me to “work” in a non-traditional way to suit the demands of my PDA/ADHD/autism, a big part of which is offering a variety of resources in different formats and that almost everything I do here is completely free or donation based.
